The SynTex Vieja Hybrid—sometimes marketed as “7 Bloods Vieja” or simply “7 Bloods Vieja (Vieja ×)”—is a selective‑bred Central American cichlid cross involving the genus Vieja (often Vieja melanurus / synspilum) and other hybrids. Upscale Aquatics+1
This hybrid lineage is known for bold colorations (strong reds, oranges, metallic sheens) and a robust body shape.
One forum post estimates the SynTex hybrid contains ≈62.5% of the Vieja synspilum gene. MonsterFishKeepers.com
Size: These fish can grow large—mature tank‑ready size often 10–14” (≈25–35 cm) or more, depending on growth conditions.
Coloration: Characterised by vibrant red/orange head/body zones, metallic hues, and hybrid traits not typical of wild‐type Vieja. Variability is high due to hybrid genetics.
Temperament: As large hybrid cichlids, they tend to be aggressive/territorial, especially as they mature or spawn. Best considered for advanced hobbyists with suitably sized tanks. tfhdigital.com
Tank Size: Minimum 125 gallons or larger, especially for one adult or mixed group. Space and open swimming room are essential.
Water Conditions: Temperature ~ 75‑82 °F (24‑28 °C); pH ~ 7.0‑8.0; stable conditions with strong filtration recommended.
Environment: Provide open space for swimming plus rockwork/caves for territories. Heavy filtration and regular maintenance are key due to size and bioload.
Diet: Omnivorous; high‑quality large pellets formulated for large cichlids, supplemented with frozen/live meaty foods and some vegetable matter.
Tankmates: Only with other large robust fish that can hold their own. Avoid small or timid species. Hybrids like this should ideally be kept in species‑only or carefully matched setups.
An eye‑catching showpiece: The red/orange “blood” head coloration and large body make them standout display fish.
Hybrid novelty: For collectors of extreme / hybrid cichlids, the SynTex Vieja represents a “premium” variant.
Personality: Their size and presence mean they command attention in a large tank.
Because these fish are hybrids, expect variability: body shape, color, aggression and size may differ widely from one specimen to another.
Their aggressiveness and large size make them unsuitable for general community tanks or for beginners.
Ethical sourcing and health assurance are important—large hybrids can have special needs or susceptibility if conditions are poor.
Provide sufficient space, strong filtration, and quality nutrition to avoid growth or health issues.

Q: I just completed my order, what's next?
A: Before shipment, we quarantine all fish for at least 24-48 hours. During this period, we closely monitor the fish to make sure they are healthy. We also do not feed them during this time in order to 'clean out' their digestive system and limit their ability to soil the water. This helps reduce the amount of waste in the bag and will keep the water clean.
Q: When can I expect my order to be ship?
